Ordering Funeral Flowers for Immediate Family

When Loss Hits Close: Ordering Funeral Flowers for Immediate Family

Losing a parent, sibling, spouse, or child is deeply personal and the funeral arrangements reflect that. If you’re ordering for an immediate family loss — casket sprays, standing wreaths, or altar arrangements — here’s what to know and what we offer.

What we’ll need from you

  1. Full name of the deceased (as listed on the obituary): We need the correct, formal name so the funeral home and service director can assign the arrangement. (Did you know, we deliver to flower doors per funeral home policies, not the service room, so the funeral home makes final placements on-site).

  2. Funeral service details: The name and address of the funeral home / church / service location, date and time of service or visitation. This ensures flowers arrive on time. Our ideal is at least 2 before the service begins so staff can arrange them properly. That means our truck might be loaded 3 hours ahead of time. For Sunday services, we deliver on Saturday.

  3. Budget: Let us know your approximate floral budget (before tax and delivery), so we can design something appropriate. From modest standing sprays to full casket arrangements or pedestal wreaths, we have the supplies and experience for a beautiful tribute.

  4. Sentimental requests: If there are special flowers, colors, or design ideas meaningful to your loved one, we want to know. Personal touches often mean more than size or expense. We have fresh supplies delivered 3x a week so we'll do our best to inquire for unique requests.

  5. Card message details: Who should the condolence card be addressed to (family, children, spouse, etc.) and exactly how you want the signature to appear.

What we offer for these deeply personal occasions

  • Casket sprays — full or half size depending on preferences

  • Standing sprays and wreaths on easels or stands

  • Large pedestal or floor arrangements to display at the funeral home or church

  • Altar arrangements or bespoke tribute pieces, customized to reflect hobbies, affiliations, or favorite colors/flowers of the deceased. We've seen model cars, flags, sports shoes, fishing poles, and more.

  • Sympathy plants or dish gardens for families who prefer something long-lasting and living. Our best seller is the Isaac on our website, as well as our Peace Lilies.

We’ve been helping families with these meaningful moments since 1969, and we treat each request with the care, respect, and sensitivity it deserves.

We most often serve Churches in and around Valparaiso, Chesterton, Wanatah, Hobart, and Kouts, as well as these funeral homes: Moeller, Kosanke, Bartholomew, Edmonds & Evans, White-Love, Burns, Rees, and Dykes.
